Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs were established in 2015 by the United Nations as a global sustainable development agenda for 2030. All 193 countries of the UN General Assembly have adopted them. They consist of 17 global goals that are to be achieved by 2030. The 17 defined goals cover issues such as health, poverty, education, reducing inequality, improving working conditions and moving towards sustainable cities and responsible production.

An effective ESG strategy

Cordeel Group has chosen the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals as the overall guideline for our sustainability strategy.  By linking our actions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we recognize the impact and role we play in helping to achieve these global goals.  Cordeel aims to have all 17 SDGs addressed at least once in its daily activities by the end of 2022.  We have used the SDGs to determine where we can have the most impact with our ESG initiatives, resulting in 11 SDGs.  Cordeel Group is already actively implementing some of these SDGs, particularly in the environmental area.

Sustainability report 2022

We want to actively contribute to the action plan to free humanity from poverty, ensure peace and well-being for all people, and put the planet back on track for a sustainable future by 2030. To bring a real change in society and embed sustainability in all our activities, we have developed a sustainability strategy. This strategy guides our improvements and future initiatives by establishing common priorities and clear objectives. The strategy also provides us with a framework to measure our performance and hold ourselves accountable for the years ahead.

Our corporate sustainability consists of three pillars: Environmental, Social and Governance. For each pillar, we have established an overall ambition statement and a number of focus areas. These focus areas are the sustainability topics that we consider important for both our company and our stakeholders. Cordeel's sustainability program is and will remain in continuous development, a journey of learning and improvement.
