The construction sector has a major impact on our living environment. At Cordeel Group, we see this not only as a responsibility, but also as an opportunity to do things differently and better. That is why we want to embed sustainability ever more firmly in the way we design, build, renovate and innovate. For Cordeel Group, sustainability is not a separate programme, but an integral part of the way we shape our activities and solutions.

From ambition to tangible impact.

We are focusing our efforts on the areas where we, as a construction group, can make a difference. This means, amongst other things, reducing our own emissions, using more renewable energy and committing to the electrification of our operations.
But our greatest challenge lies further down the value chain. The materials we use account for a significant proportion of the climate impact of buildings. That is why we are working on solutions that reduce material-related CO₂ emissions: from low-carbon concrete, renovation and reuse to circular and bio-based building materials.
At the same time, we are looking beyond CO₂ alone. We are exploring how, through measures such as soil remediation, land regeneration, energy storage and new materials, we can contribute to a built environment that uses energy, raw materials and nature ever more intelligently.

We measure our progress

For us, sustainability also means measuring, learning and continuously improving.

In 2025, the Cordeel Group reduced its Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 19.1 per cent compared with 2024 and by 50.4 per cent compared with 2021. In our buildings and on our construction sites in Belgium and the Netherlands, 90.2 per cent of our energy consumption came from renewable sources. Our turnover from renovation projects has also more than doubled compared with 2024. Our next major challenge is Scope 3: the emissions associated with the materials and products we purchase and use. We aim to further assess our impact in this area and reduce it in a targeted manner.

For Cordeel Group, sustainability is not an end in itself, but an ongoing process: assessing where we stand, reducing our impact and using innovation to develop ever-better solutions for our clients, our sector and our environment.
