Cordeel to construct two residential towers at Boompjes, Rotterdam

Amvest Residential Core Fund (ARC Fund) has commissioned Cordeel Nederland to work on the turnkey construction of two residential towers at Boompjes in Rotterdam. The tower blocks will reach 70 and 100 metres in height and comprise 342 non-subsidised rental apartments – including co-living and starter homes – plus a commercial plinth and an innovative mobility solution.

Designed by Team V architects, the contemporary residential towers will be situated prominently alongside the Meuse River. A vacant, outdated office building (approx. 11,000m2) will be demolished to make way for a high-quality, sustainable residential complex (approx. 44,000m2). The rental apartments will be accessible to a diverse group of tenants, including starters and people moving up the housing ladder. There will also be co-living options: apartments where every resident has their own spacious quarters with en suite bathroom and shares the other facilities. In this unique project, the concept of ‘sharing’ also applies to mobility. A mobility hub for a fleet of e-cars and e bikes, to be supported by a community app, will be installed in the underground car park.

Over the past four years, ARC Fund, developer APF International, delegated developer Peak Development and Team V architects have worked closely together to bring about this initiative. Thanks in part to longstanding and excellent relationships, a new phase of high-quality residential development is now successfully underway. Demolition work is scheduled to start in February 2020.
