Cordeel Group celebrates the International Day of Education: Learning as the key to growth
A Foundation for Growth
“Talent Development is a relatively new service within Cordeel Group. Our first priority was to create awareness about the importance of learning and development,” the team explains. “A solid foundation is essential for successfully building further initiatives.”
Over the past two years, the team has taken various steps to support employees in their development. “It starts with onboarding. New employees are assigned a personal C-coach—similar to a mentor—who helps them navigate the organization and guides them through their initial journey. The onboarding day itself has also been updated, and in September, the brand-new learning platform was launched.”
Through this platform, employees can follow training programs focusing on soft skills, such as communication, stress management, and time management. “Technical skills are often already present, but soft skills, like effective communication, are equally important. They enhance teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment.”
The team strives for customization. “Given the diverse roles and profiles within Cordeel, differentiation is crucial. That’s why we personalize learning paths and provide support for individual and specific requests.”
Recognition as a Motivator
A strong learning culture thrives in an environment where employees are continuously encouraged to grow. This aligns seamlessly with our core value: 'Be better every day.' “It’s not just about doing more or being better, but also about doing things differently: daring to set aside your ego and reflecting on how something could be approached differently next time. Seek out people, methods, inspiration, or resources to help you with this. It’s about much more than simply attending a training session. What’s important is that these efforts are recognized—not necessarily in a formal evaluation or development conversation but even during a quick check-in or with a simple compliment.”
Learning in Unexpected Places
Learning doesn’t always have to happen in a classroom or during a formal course. Lauren finds inspiration through her evening fashion course and online videos, while Romy gains valuable insights from podcasts. Marie emphasizes the importance of conversations: “By sharing your thoughts and ideas, you can test them with someone who has a different perspective, leading to new insights.”
Hobbies, too, can unintentionally or unexpectedly provide valuable skills. “I once saw someone list ‘Dungeon Master’ on their resume, a facilitating role in Dungeons & Dragons. This reflects organizational and leadership qualities that are also professionally relevant.”

Learning confession
“Under the motto ‘we’re all just human,’ we’d like to wrap things up by putting the Talent Development team in the hot seat:
Romy: “People often see me as structured and organized. During my university years, I had a fitting side hustle: selling summaries here and there. Of course, always at very reasonable prices!”
Lauren: “I had to repeat the third year of secondary school. Naturally, it was entirely the fault of my math teacher, who made the resit exam all about the chapters I had struggled with most.”
Marie: “At the end of secondary school, after two years of Spanish, I was awarded a prize for best Spanish student during the graduation ceremony. But because I had an Italian boyfriend at the time and was fully immersed in his world, I blurted out an enthusiastic ‘Grazie!’ instead of ‘Gracias!’ in front of a full auditorium. The looks of disbelief are still etched in my memory.”
At Cordeel Group, we see learning as a lifelong journey. Whether it’s on the job, during a course, or in a spontaneous conversation, every step matters in the learning process and on our path to growth and innovation.
