Unique redevelopment of monastery into modern apartments

Sint-Theresianenklooster in Aalst transformed into 44 new apartments

We converted the beautiful Sint-Theresianenklooster in Aalst, with its private monastery garden, into 44 modern apartments. For this project, we collaborated with Abscis Architects who took care of the design and the urban design study. We were responsible for all the construction work.

Reverence for the historical context

In addition to the apartments in the monastery building, three new structures were built in the monastery garden. Due reverence was given to the historical context, for instance by preserving the authentic monastery wall. The result is an attractive living environment with a variety of housing units suitable for different types of families.
