Living Tomorrow campus officially opened

The foundation stone was laid in March 2021. Today, 18 months later, Living Tomorrow's new innovation campus was officially presented to the press. From Monday on, the general public can discover how we will work and live in 2030 thanks to new technological and sustainable developments.

Alongside the Indringingsweg in Vilvoorde, Cordeel built the impressive 50-metre-high tower with a total usable area of more than 6700 m2, spread over 14 floors. This makes the innovation centre one of the largest in Europe.

Maximum space and circularity

Thanks to the special shape of the building - a kind of rounded triangle running into a point - maximum use has been made of the space in the height. But the focus is not only on maximising space, but also on maximising circularity. Thus, the building is climate-neutral in use and green, circular materials were used as much as possible.
During construction, Cordeel ensured a completely paperless site by using QR codes that always showed the latest building plans.

Cordeel is a proud partner of Living Tomorrow. Together with other 80 partners, our joint ambition is to act as a catalyst to substantially accelerate innovation.

The common thread of the Innovation Campus is formed by 'digital twins and companions'. Of ourselves, our car, our home, office and even entire cities. A tour through six experience zones lets us experience what life will be like after 2030. In addition, the 14 floors of the blue tower house a hotel, meeting and event centre, office space and an innovative 'chef's table' on the top floor.
