Living Tomorrow site opened for Open Wervendag

It was a big day yesterday at the Cordeel site of Living Tomorrow in Vilvoorde. During Open Wervendag, Flemish Minister for Mobility and Public Works Lydia Peeters, Director-General of the Flemish Confederation of Construction Marc Dillen and Mayor of Vilvoorde Hans Bonte visited the site of the future together with Frank Beliën, founder of Living Tomorrow, under a bright sunshine.

The unique 50-metre-high Living Tomorrow innovation campus could be visited for the first time. Visitors discovered how we will build smarter, more sustainably and more safely in 2030.

Cordeel already ensures a completely paperless construction site by using QR codes that always show the latest construction plans. But C-energy and C-battery where also present with some innovative solutions for a more sustainable construction site with our mobile construction site battery on display for the visitors. By generating and storing solar energy from PV panels on the roof of the site offices, it will provide the construction site of the future with green energy.

In and around the building, visitors were introduced to all kinds of digital applications, new building materials and, as an extra, were given a beautiful panoramic view of a sun-drenched Brussels from the eleventh floor.
