Aquatopia Aalst

With the realization of the second phase for the new swimming pool ‘Aquatopia’ in Aalst, after three years of construction, Vita Group and Cordeel have delivered one of the most versatile sports pools in Flanders with multiple facilities for sporty and recreational swimmers. The project was executed in two phases.

The first phase consists of a 50-meter pool, a 25-35-meter pool with sinking retaining walls and movable bottoms, a triathlon room, diving towers of 1, 3 and 5 m height and a drowning person detection system. This phase was completed in October 2021.

The second phase entails an extensive fun section with more than 200 meters of slides, a fast slide with light effects (94m), a slower slide more suitable for families and smaller children (86m), a group slide of no less than 4 meters wide and for the little ones, several smaller slides with a total length of 35 meters are provided in different shapes and lengths. There is also an instruction pool with a movable floor for aqua fitness and to teach children to swim, and a multifunctional sports hall. This recreational part was officially inaugurated in December 2022.
